Thoughts:

Vaccaro could have left Texas last year and been a 2nd – 3rd round pick. This year to increase his stock he needs to show better footwork and ability in Man to Man coverage. With today’s NFL TEs being as big and as athletic as they are some coaches would like to feel comfortable locking their safeties up Man to Man with the TEs which allows freedom for other players to roam. He also needs to increase his straight-line speed from now until the combine rolls around. The things scouts do like about Vacarro still makes him a very viable NFL prospect. His ability to blitz effectively from all different spots on the field adds value to any defense. Depending on which team he ends up on, his learning curve will be smaller than others because of the defense he is successfully starting in at Texas.
